Biography

Elie Bétard was admitted to the Paris Bar in 2014, the same year he joined August Debouzy.

He advises French and international companies on the day-to-day management of their tax matters and supports them in restructuring transactions, including partial asset contributions, mergers, share buybacks, and capital reductions.

He also assists with acquisitions, covering deal structuring, management of intra-group flows, tax implications of planned financing, and tax due diligence on target companies.

Additionally, Elie advises clients on establishing or expanding activities in France, with a focus on optimal structuring and the tax treatment of cross-border flows.

Elie also assists companies with tax audits and litigation, and advises individuals on wealth taxation. His work includes supporting executives in structuring their equity stakes prior to a business sale or refinancing, gift and estate planning, addressing tax issues related to impatriation/repatriation and expatriation, and implementing Pacte Dutreil arrangements.
