**August Debouzy is pleased to announce the arrival of Étienne MATHEY as of January 2024, as a new partner within the Corporate M&A team. This arrival, which comes just a few months after the arrival of two new counsels, reflects a particularly strong growth dynamic, with the Corporate M&A team now consisting of 8 partners and 7 counsels. Étienne MATHEY has almost 25 years’ recognized experience in mergers and acquisitions, LBOs, growth capital, and securities law. As a member of the Paris Bar since 2001, Étienne MATHEY advises private equity funds (such as Five Arrows for LBOs or DWS for infrastructure). He is also recognized for his expertise in advising French and international corporate clients on a variety of strategic deals (such as carve-outs, joint ventures, and public offerings), in a wide range of sectors, including defense, luxury goods, healthcare, or telecommunications. Étienne MATHEY also advises on complex pre-litigation and litigation matters (including post-acquisition and shareholders disputes), providing support to the Litigation team.

Étienne MATHEY will join August Debouzy’s Corporate team, which currently includes the following partners: Gilles AUGUST, Julien AUCOMTE, Julien WAGMANN, Jérôme BROSSET, Laurent COTRET, Valéry DENOIX DE SAINT-MARC and Pierre DESCHEEMAEKER.

**About Étienne MATHEY**

Étienne MATHEY has been a member of the Paris Bar since 2001. He worked at French and Anglo-Saxon law firms such as **RAMBAUD MARTEL** (2003 -2006), **PROSKAUER ROSE LLP** (2006 – 2011) and more recently **PAUL HASTINGS**, where he became a partner in 2014. Étienne graduated from the University of Strasbourg (Corporate Lawyer Diploma (*DJCE*) and Diploma in business law from the Franco-German Business Lawyers Advanced Master’s program (*Magistère*), 1999). He is a frequent lecturer at various universities, including the Panthéon-Sorbonne University where he teaches advanced corporate law.
